Even tough it says lava lakes are rare, I still find them quite often. These 2 are close to my spawn point.

Pfft! that's nothing compared to what iv done in previous worlds. you couldnt find a tree that wasnt on fire in a 50 mile radius. and at the middle of it all was a big ass crater and a cube of portals to the nether.

The fishing rod is how you get them low to the ground. However, heaven help you when it comes to the fireballs.
